We’re seeking a skilled Leading Hand HD Fitter with at least 5 years’ experience post-trade to join our hands-on team at our owner-operated gold mine. If you’re motivated, experienced, and ready to lead by example, this is the role for you.

This position is being offered as a 2:2 roster, 2 weeks of nightshift, R&R, followed by 2 weeks of dayshift, getting the opportunity of working across all crews.

Fulltime position direct with the owner / operator of the mine, and immediate start available. This is a hands-on leadership position.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Lead and mentor the small team of fitters.
  • Coordinate maintenance tasks to minimise downtime and align with production targets.
  • Liaise with supervisor / superintendent and planner regarding maintenance priorities and strategies.
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs, services, and parts usage in maintenance systems (Pronto).
  • Ensure work is completed to high safety and quality standards.
  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled servicing on trucks, loaders, graders, and excavators.
  • Fault find and diagnose engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and drivetrains.
  • Preventative maintenance on all equipment
  • Completing inspection checklists and reporting on equipment condition
  • Contributing to pre-start meetings and ‘what went wrong’ reviews

Gear You’ll Work On:

  • Komatsu 785-7 & 1500 Trucks
  • PC2000 & PC1250-8 Excavators
  • D375-8 Dozers & CAT 745 Water Carts
  • Komatsu WA600 & 500 loaders
  • Various other plant and equipment

Your Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ Post Trade experience working on open cut mobile plant – Komatsu preferred
  • Trade Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering (Heavy diesel / Mobile plant)
  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills (essential)
  • Motivated, hands-on, and willing to support the broader team
