Introduction

Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the permanent full-time role of Labourer/Plant Operator.

Reporting directly to the Roads Coordinator, you will support Broken Hill City Council in delivering valued services to the community. The role undertakes general labouring duties and operates the plant across Council’s Infrastructure operations.



Description

We are seeking suitable applicants who will use their skills and experience to undertake duties in areas of roadworks, building construction and plant operation. Recent work experience and demonstrated experience in the use of plant and equipment would be an advantage however training will be provided to ensure the relevant skills and licences are attained by the successful candidate.

You will need to have competent written and communication skills, ability to work in a team environment and a commitment to safe work practices.

Terms and Conditions of Employment:

  • Ordinary Hours of work shall be no more than 76 hours per fortnight.
  • The ordinary hours of work for employees engaged in Infrastructure Operations shall be between Monday and Sunday. As such, you may be required to work a span of hours and penalty rates will apply for Saturday and Sunday work as per the Broken Hill Consent Award.
  • All other conditions are as per the Award.
  • The Council has various Memorandum’s of Understanding that may apply to special projects.
