Labourer

Our client is looking for a Salt Refinery Labourers to join their team for permanent positions starting in February/March 2025! 

Our Bajool based manufacturing client, Cheetham Salt in Central Queensland are currently seeking a permanent Salt Refinery General Labourers to join their team. Cheetham Salt are a leading salt manufacturing company in Australia and have been in operation since 1888!

The Labourer role:

Working as a General Labourer and reporting directly to the Manufacturing and Warehouse Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:

• Operating equipment to produce bulk and bagged products
• Warehouse duties including operation of the pallet wrapper
• Maintaining a safe and clean work environment

The Team Leader role:

Reporting directly to the Manufacturing & Warehouse Coordinator and key responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
• Strive to maintain/improve the systems and processes that will enhance safety, quality & productivity through your team.
• Ensuring team produce the required products for the week to meet DIFOT.
• To provide 12-hour supervision of all plant activities relating to the manufacture of quality products in line with Food safety and HACCP.
• Day-shift and night-shift rotation
• 48 hrs a week in a 7 day rotating roster

We don't require any prior Industrial Manufacturing experience and Cheetham Salt will provide full training on procedures, equipment and systems. If you are safety focused, enjoy working in a team, show initiative and are physically able to complete repetitive manual handling then this sounds like the perfect next step for your career.

Requirements:

• A current driver's licence and own reliable transport (there is no public transport in this area).
• Forklift ticket
• You must reside within 1 hour commute distance from site

The successful candidate must have the ability to pass a pre-employment medical and background checks (including a police clearance).
