Essantis is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to be responsible for the maintenance of all electrical networks and wiring, conduits and other electrical devices on the Smeaton site.
This position operates on day shift, Monday to Friday 38 hour work week with additional call outs for breakdowns as required.

As the Industrial Electrician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility’s electrical systems, working closely with the Maintenance Manager and other team members in a friendly, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Industrial design, installation and assembly of electrical networks at the site.
- Installing, servicing and repairing of wiring, conduits, fixtures and other electrical devices and systems on site.
- Examining the design and blueprints identifying specifications and determining the correct methods of operation.
- Conducting electrical tests and inspections.
- Cleaning contacts, circuit boards and power correction factor unit.
- Ensuring systems are grounded.
- Testing and tagging of equipment.
- Installing lighting fixtures and switches.
- Supervising tradespeople that are hired or contracted to assist on such projects.
- Maintaining the workshop and surrounding areas in a clean and safe manner while complying with relevant standards.
- Identifying and implementing preventative measures including oiling motors, bending conduit and replacing old wires where required.
- Identifying appropriate positioning and installation of electrical switchboards.
- Participate in Capital Project scoping and implementation.
- May be required to travel to other work sites.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Extensive experience in electrical maintenance or related work, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Victorian Electrical Licence
- A-Grade Licenced Electrician
- Recognised qualification in Electrical Trade or equivalent competency
- A current driver’s licence
- If required by the business – willing to attain Registered Electrical Contractor (REC) / Inhouse Nominee Registration
- Demonstrated experience with industrial electrical systems, including motor control, Variable Frequency Drives, PLCs, automation and instrumentation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, interpret and
document information clearly
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and contributing to a safe workplace

- Ability to perform the inherent physical requirements of the role, such as working in confined spaces, at heights, and in dusty environments.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket
- Working at Height ticket
- Forklift licence
- Confined space ticket
- First Aid Certificate (including Low Voltage Rescue)
(Training courses can be provided for desirable licences or tickets).
