Office location: Mulgrave, Victoria
Role: HVAC Project Manager
Salary Range: $140,000 – $160,000 + car allowance + super
Own the project. Own the relationship. Own the outcome. Projects up to $15M | Tier 1 or Tier 2 background preferred | Mulgrave based
Most Project Manager roles sound good on paper. Then you join and realise you're managing someone else's decisions, chasing approvals and fighting a culture that talks about relationships but doesn't actually value them.
This one's different.
This is a long-established mechanical contractor with genuine loyalty within the business. People stay here. That tells you something. The projects are commercially interesting - distribution centres, warehouses, modern office builds within industrial parks and you'll have real authority to run them from site start through to handover and beyond.
You'll manage projects across Victoria end to end. That means liaising with head contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, managing the full financial picture from budget to variations to progress claims, procurement, programming, commissioning documentation and keeping everything running ahead of schedule rather than chasing it.
What they're genuinely after is someone who does what they say they'll do. Customer-focused, collaborative and commercially sharp. Someone who treats subcontractor and client relationships as an asset worth protecting, not a problem to manage.
You'll come from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 mechanical contracting background in Australia with solid experience running commercial HVAC projects. You'll be comfortable with OHS compliance, ITP management, subcontractor performance and the financial disciplines that separate a good PM from an average one.
The salary is $140,000 – $160,000 depending on experience, plus car allowance and super. If you want to work somewhere that's been doing this properly for a long time and intends to keep doing so, this is worth a conversation.
Applicants must currently be based in Australia and hold unrestricted Australian working rights.
