Our Health and Education team has an opportunity for an experienced and qualified HVAC Technician to join the team at Australian National University in ACT.  Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager and working alongside the internal trades team. Your role as a HVAC Technician will see you delivering maintenance services to the contracted ANU building facilities. You will assist with the ongoing preventative and reactive maintenance to a mixture of old and new buildings, with a focus on maintenance and general repairs to the buildings, and their fixed plant and equipment.

Primarily, you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking building inspections and general repairs
  • All refrigeration services and repairs as well as assisting the general trades team with other maintenance activities
  • Represent the business appropriately in all dealings with external and internal contacts
  • Actively manage and meet response times, deadlines and safety obligations whilst carrying out works and service

This role is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, and incorporates a weekly 'on call' roster, an RDO system, and some afternoon and weekend work as required, along with additional allowances.

ABOUT YOU

  • Refrigerant Handling Licence
  • Artic Licence
  • Restricted Electrical Licence
  • Solid understanding of basic plumbing | electrical | carpentry with relevant tickets i.e., White Card (Construction)
  • Be willing to undertake a pre-employment medical with Drug & Alcohol screening, and 
  • Hold and maintain a Working with Vulnerable People check, and
  • Hold a current driver’s licence.
