The role
We currently have two full-time vacancies for Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, one based from our Taree Depot and one from our Tuncurry Depot.
MidCoast Council’s Public Spaces department is responsible for managing over 3,000 hectares of parks and open spaces, 26 sporting complexes, 84 playgrounds, 32 cemeteries, and 560 Council buildings, including amenities, community halls, and administration facilities.
Within this department, our Trades team plays a vital role in delivering essential services to the community by ensuring the reliability and performance of Council’s fleet and plant equipment through expert mechanical repairs and maintenance.
As part of a skilled and professional team, the Heavy Vehicle Mechanic/s will work on a diverse range of light and heavy fleet vehicles and plant, including the equipment used to maintain and service our roads. Responsibilities include general maintenance, diagnostics, hydraulic repairs, and minor welding, as well as conducting roadworthy inspections.

Salary: Commencing salary package circa $63,990 - $ 70,390 p.a. plus superannuation (depending on skills and experience)
Location: Upon commencement your normal place of work will be the MidCoast Council Depot located on Greygum Road, Tuncurry and Arkwright Crescent, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time 38 hours per week
