Our client is a growing civil contracting company servicing the mining & resources sector with various ongoing projects running nationwide. Our team are seeking an experienced HD Fitter/ Mechanic to maintain our fleet of LVs, excavators, skid steers, loaders and trucks.


About the Role:


We are looking for an experienced HD fitter/mechanic who can work between Bayswater workshop and mine sites taking a lead on all maintenance, repairs and schedules of machinery. For larger works, you will be liaising with suppliers for quotes providing your experience and knowledge in diagnosis from third parties.


This is an autonomous position offering flexibility, you will be responsible for organising your schedule in conjunction with maintenance and repair needs.


This is a new position and a great opportunity to join a growing business. The successful candidate will be provided with a vehicle and this position will report to the Directors.


Key responsibilities:


  • Carry out repairs as required and conduct routine maintenance on light vehicles, loaders, skidsteers, excavators and trucks.
  • Organise your own schedule according to repair and maintenance requirements.
  • Liaise with project managers, site supervisors and other stakeholders for machinery downtime to coincide with maintenance/repairs.
  • Travel between sites using your work vehicle.
  • Communicate and liaise with third parties for quotes and diagnosis.

We are looking for a candidate who has:


  • Experience carrying out repairs with light vehicles, excavators, skidsteers, loaders and trucks.
  • Previous experience and the ability to diagnose machinery breakdown.
  • Experience organising and conducting routine maintenance on machinery/vehicles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, managing own schedule and workload.
  • Ability to provide mobile/field repairs.
  • Proactive in planning with excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Supervision or Management experience advantageous in this autonomous position.
