W Sydney located at 31 Wheat Road is hiring a Painter Handyperson. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this integral role facilitates repairs and maintenance to support the Engineering operations. You will assist in executing strategies that maintain the building, contents, and grounds with particular attention towards fire life safety, security, and asset protection. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Performs scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces as required, including touch-up painting, patching, wallpaper repairs, and making good on furniture fixtures and equipment;
- Carry out maintenance tasks in accordance with the property preventative maintenance procedures and standard guidelines;
- Respond to maintenance on hotel equipment and assets as required, and miscellaneous minor repairs;
- Meet project deadlines and ensure that quality standards are adhered to;
- Maintains finished detailed schedules and coordinates procurement of paints and stains;
- Drive synergies with key departments and stakeholders;
- Supports and innovates energy, water, and waste conservation programs;
- Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the Department Manager;
- Delivers services that meet and exceed the needs of guests and enable business success.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Painter and Decorator Certificate III;
- Hospitality experience will be advantageous;
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail;
- EWP license advantageous.
