Located just minutes from Macquarie Park Metro station, our hotel caters to a diverse mix of business and leisure travelers. As a Handyperson, you will be responsible for ensuring that all facilities, equipment and property are in good working order and presented to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine inspections and repairs of hotel infrastructure (lighting, plumbing, heating/cooling systems, etc.).
• Replace light bulbs, tighten fittings, fix door handles, patch minor wall damage.
• Maintain and repair furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance on equipment and systems to prevent breakdowns.
• Keep records of maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests.
• Ensure rooms and public areas (lobbies, hallways, elevators) are safe and functioning properly.
• Work with housekeeping and front desk staff to resolve room-related issues quickly.
• Assist with upkeep of hotel grounds, gardens, and exterior areas.
• Minor landscaping, cleaning pathways, and ensuring outdoor lighting works.
• Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.
• Order or request replacements as needed.
• Report any safety hazards or maintenance risks to management.
• Follow OH&S (Occupational Health & Safety) protocols.
• Use tools and machinery safely.
• Liaise with external contractors for specialized work (e.g., electricians, plumbers).
• Coordinate with different hotel departments to minimize disruption to guests.
