About The Business:

Kalamunda Glass is a well-established business providing top-notch glass and glazing services to both residential and commercial customers. Their expertise includes:

  • Glazing in aluminium and timber frames.
  • Manufacturing and fitting of shower screens.
  • Car and truck windscreen and body glass replacement services.
  • Custom cut screens for farm machinery.
  • Factory glazing services.
  • Glass cutting to size.
  • Stained glass leadlight repairs.
  • Manufacturing simulated overlay leadlights.

 

General Duties:

  • Measuring and assessing glazing work, choosing the correct glass for each requirement.
  • Installing glass into aluminium frames with silicone or rubber wedges, and into timber frames with putty facing.
  • Hand-cutting both float and laminated glass in the factory.
  • Using an overhead gantry crane to manoeuvre glass sheets safely and efficiently.
  • Using tilt tables for cutting, straight line edgers, and hand polishing wheels for edge work on glass.
  • Measuring, cutting aluminium, assembling, and installing both fully framed and semi-frameless shower screens.
  • Assisting in windscreen installations, including managing fittings such as cameras, ADAS systems, and mouldings.
  • Keeping the factory tidy by sweeping, putting tools away or on charge, and disposing of old glass and shower screens.
  • Assisting customers in-store with booking jobs, quoting, and providing excellent customer service.
  • Repairing leadlight and stained-glass works, including cutting, leading, soldering, and cementing.
  • Completing simulated overlay work, including quoting, designing, manufacturing, and installing simulated overlay panels.

  • Positive work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Patience and dedication to refine and gain competence in glass and glazing skills.
  • Good communication skills to provide clear and confident customer service.
  • Well-presented and able to represent the business professionally.
  • Ability to manage and lift glass panels safely with the glazier.
  • Working at heights certification is an advantage or the willingness to obtain it.
  • A love for dogs, there are two in the office.
  • A good sense of humour.
