We are seeking a someone (trade qualified preferred but not essential) who has experience as a Welder to join our team located in Burnie Tasmania.
This role will see you being responsible for repairs and maintenance of transport equipment and shipping line equipment, fabrication and some site work.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Some of the duties and responsibilites may include the following:
- Carry our all instructions within set timeframes
- Always work in a safe manner
- Complete time sheets and relevant work sheets.
- Complete repains and maintenance as directed
- Report all damages, faulty equipment and/or accidents
- Participate in OH&S & OH&S Toolbox meetings
Essential Skills:
- Sound knowledge f welding and workshop practices
- Strong service orientation
- Understanding of requirements for handling dangerous goods
- Competent in the use of MIG welding techniques
- Competent in using oxy and acetylene equipment and in the use of hand and powered tools
- Sound understanding in the concep of providing a service to clients in a third part contracted logistics
About you:
- Good communications skills, both verbal and written
- Being a team player
- Willingness to learn
- Minimum Year 10 (year 12 preferred) qualifications
- Welding certificates or undertaking of a Welding course (preferred)
- Licences: Car.
