MRAEL are currently seeking a motivated Apprentice Fitter Machinist to join the team at SWB in Cardiff, NSW. SWB was established over 50 years ago with their branch networks now extended to all of Australia. What's involved:

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic candidate who is interested in completing training and education as an apprentice with a view to becoming a trade-qualified Fitter Machinist. You will be learning alongside tradesmen and engineers to solve real problems in real time!

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Workshop based mechanical repairs, gearboxes, pumps, brakes
  • Dismantling, cleaning, assessing and measuring parts 
  • Machining – Lathe, Mill, Slotter
  • Cleaning of the workshop 
  • Some on site work
  • Workshop deliveries (local area) 
  • Assisting with maintaining workshop equipment  
  • Sand blasting and spray painting

About you:

To be considered for this position you will ideally have:

  • A positive attitude to learn in the workplace,
  • High level of mechanical aptitude,
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures, both written and verbal,
  • Ability to operate equipment and systems,

You must hold a current Drivers Licence.
