This role will report to an Engineering Manager. The main purpose for this role is to support Blackmores Production Department strategy and objectives by ensuring the timely, accurate and efficient setup, change over and operation of packaging lines, equipment and processes.

What will you do?

  • Minimising downtime and micro-stops caused by production machinery and equipment.
  • Ensuring timely, accurate and efficient setup, change over and operation of packaging lines and equipment.
  • Identify faults and perform breakdown repairs in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Work flexibly to maximise production efficiency, e.g. flexibility around meal breaks times and work hours.
  • Assist Production Operators to run packing lines efficiently, providing training, guidance and support.
  • Assist members of the engineering team by sharing knowledge, providing training, guidance and support.
  • Inspect, test and maintain packing line machinery, equipment and associated processes.
  • Perform general plant and building maintenance work.
  • Assist in the maintenance of drawings, schedules, catalogues and details of equipment, machinery and installations. 
  • Identify opportunities and provide suggestions to improve the efficiency, reliability and operation of packing line machinery, equipment and associated processes.
  • Perform modifications and improvements to improve the efficiency, reliability and operation of packing line machinery, equipment and associated processes.
  • Ensure timely, accurate and efficient setup, change over and operation of packaging lines and equipment.
  • Undertake specific project work upon request, eg building prototypes, helping design and build specific parts etc.

 

Who are you?

  • Relevant trade certificate or tradespersons certificate
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge
  • Excellent problem solving skills with mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent machining skills.
  • Experience with TIG welding.
  • Sound knowledge of the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice for Therapeutic Goods.
  • Good Word, Excel and Outlook/Email skills.
