We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter (with Australian Mechanical Fitter Trade) to join our Field Service team in Melbourne. This is not your traditional fitter role with this being field based, with the opportunity to work across multiple customer sites gaining exposure to the latest technology and automation. Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will be Working On

  • Hands on field based role delivering high quality electrical and mechanical support
  • Contract repair, preventative maintenance, installations and emergency breakdown services for Dematic customers in the Melbourne region
  • Participation in the on-call roster and flexibility to work overtime including some weekends
  • Flexible to work day and afternoon shifts as part of the work roster
  • Usual work pattern is Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm

What Type Of Person Will Be Successful

If you have the following credentials, you will thrive in this role:

  • Mechanical Fitter Trade (Restricted Electrical Licence also highly regarded)
  • Experience working with automation and material handling equipment (e.g. conveyors)
  • Adept with computerised maintenance (CMMS) systems
  • Experience in troubleshooting/problem solving equipment faults
  • PLC knowledge in Siemens S7 and Scada WIN CC
  • Experience in mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems Licenses and certificates for Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights and First Aid 
  • Current driver’s license
  • Sound computer skills for record keeping, reporting and invoicing 
  • Flexibility to work overtime and a rotating roster
