The opportunity

If you’re a qualified Field Service Mechanic seeking a stable, community focused role within a supportive team, we want to hear from you! 

Our team plays a vital role in supporting the community, by maintaining Rural Fire Service plant and equipment. We help ensure our local brigades are fully prepared for emergency response, while also maintaining the entirety of council assets providing an immensely diverse range of work within the role. This may include but not limited to inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, all facets of repair work and maintaining accurate documentation.

  • This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 38 hours / week + access to a 4-day week
  • Base Salary Range: $69,600 to $93,974 pa based on 38 hours / week + 12% superannuation + commuter use vehicle + $2,464 retention allowance + adverse work conditions allowance
  • You will be working from Port Stephens Council Works Depot, Raymond Terrace NSW

  • Motor Vehicle Tradesperson Certificate
  • AIS Vehicle Inspectors Certificate
  • HR Licence 
  • White card
  • High risk work license (Forklift, confined spaces, working at heights)
  • Experience in fleets operations, preventative maintenance and repair works on light and heavy vehicles including a diverse range of plant items
