NEPEAN Longwall®, a division of NEPEAN™, partners with its customers to design, engineer, integrate and support longwall equipment and systems. With facilities in Queensland and New South Wales, we offer a full suite of after-sales services and lifecycle support. Our new, purpose-built facility in Kurri Kurri continues to strengthen our engineering and manufacturing capability, providing the opportunity to see our designs and ideas come to life in the workshop.

Our Opportunity
To support our ongoing growth, we are seeking Expressions of Interest from talented Mechanical Designers and Mechanical Engineers who want to be part of a high-performing team working on challenging and rewarding projects.

What you’ll do (depending on role and level):

• Design and model mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

• Develop and deliver innovative solutions for longwall equipment and supporting systems.

• Perform engineering calculations and ensure compliance with relevant codes and Australian standards.

• Prepare and review drawings, layouts, and scopes of work in collaboration with the design and drafting team.

• Provide technical support across concept, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, and workshop teams to ensure quality outcomes.

• Contribute to innovation and simplification of designs for greater industry application.

The Right Person
We are interested in hearing from applicants across various experience levels (junior to senior). The ideal candidates will bring:

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (engineer role) or relevant tertiary qualifications (designer role).

• Experience in mechanical design or project engineering, ideally in mining, industrial, or heavy manufacturing. Longwall or bulk material handling experience highly regarded.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• A commitment to safe design practices and teamwork.
