Position Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced Mechanically minded person, who has a good knowledge of trucks light vehicles, small machinery and equipment. The right candidate will work both on-site and in our Karratha yard. It is a Full-Time role. (Mon – Friday, 10hr per days). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with a variety of vehicles and equipment, including road transport, light vehicles, and earthmoving machinery. A hands-on approach, combined with exceptional diagnostic and fault-finding skills, is essential for success in this fast-paced role.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a range of electrical repairs and maintenance, ensuring high-quality results

• Perform mechanical repairs, including engines and transmissions

• Undertake preventative maintenance tasks to maintain optimal equipment function

• Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle and machinery issues with a strong focus on accurate, efficient problem-solving.

• Complete essential paperwork, such as logbooks and service records, with attention to detail.

• Provide expert advice regarding vehicle condition and recommended repairs or maintenance.

• Liaise with various service providers in a professional manner

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Certification: Automotive Mechanic Trade Certificate

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience; experience is advantageous.

• License: HR or MR license preferred; C Class Driver’s License required.

• Additional Licensing: Forklift and high-risk work licenses are desirable.

• Tools: Must possess own hand tools.

• Skills:

o Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.

o Ability to work autonomously and efficiently in a high-demand environment.

o Good mechanical knowledge across a range of vehicles and equipment, including road transport, light vehicles, and earthmoving machinery.

o Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.

o Basic Computer skills essential

• Attributes: Honest, hardworking, reliable, and proactive.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to pass a full pre-employment medical examination.

Work Environment

This role involves both fieldwork on-site and workshop-based tasks, often requiring quick, effective responses to client needs. Safety compliance is mandatory, given the exposure to heavy equipment and varied environmental conditions.
