About the Role
Responsible for performing the maintenance, repair, and assembly of heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance and reliability across operations. This role requires a highly skilled, hands-on professional with proven extensive experience in mechanical fitting, supporting Minetek’s commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and innovative solutions to clients worldwide.

Key Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Performing fitting, assembly, installation, and maintenance of heavy machinery and mechanical systems in an onsite environment.

  • Servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing turbines, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.

  • Conducting preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise equipment lifespan.

  • Interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to complete work accurately.

  • Carrying out precision alignment, balancing, and testing of mechanical components.

  • Ensuring compliance with company safety standards and industry regulations.

  • Collaborating with engineers and onsite technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Maintaining accurate records of work completed, including maintenance logs and technical reports.



Skills And Experiences

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter in heavy industry, mining, or energy sectors.

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent.

  • Proven hands-on experience with turbines, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and other heavy machinery.

  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and schematics.

  • Inherent understanding of Australian safety standards and their practical application within a medium-risk working environment.
