We specialize in the servicing and repair of modern mining equipment, including Hitachi excavators, Komatsu haul trucks, and Caterpillar ancillary equipment.

The Role

Gold is where it’s at - Explore the Future at Jupiter WA!  We are seeking experienced and motivated Leading Hand Heavy Duty Mechanics / Fitters to join our dynamic and innovative team at our newest mine, where the ‘way we work’ is just as important as the expertise we demonstrate every day. These roles require proactive leaders with a solution-focused approach, strong technical expertise in modern mining fleets, and a "can-do" attitude to play a critical role in supervising and supporting maintenance teams to ensure fleet reliability, safety, and efficiency, whilst fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.

We have a 15 days and nights, 13 off Fly-In Fly-Out roster on offer from Perth to Laverton (or Drive-in Drive-Out from regional centres to Laverton), the choice is yours!

Key Responsibilities also include

• Preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and unplanned repairs on Hitachi, Komatsu, and Caterpillar mining equipment
• Provide technical expertise in hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems for mining equipment
• Work closely with maintenance supervisors to coordinate scheduled maintenance and repair activities
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with OEM standards and GMS work management procedure and regulatory mining regulations
• Foster a safety-first culture by promoting best practice
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and equipment reliability.

About you

Collaboration is key! You will be a natural leader who can inspire and motivate your team, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure to resolve day to day challenges. You will also have the following: 

• Trade Qualification in Heavy Duty Mechanics, Diesel Fitting, or Mechanical Fitting
• Extensive experience working on Hitachi excavators (EX2000, EX2600, EX1200), Komatsu HD1500 haul trucks, and Caterpillar ancillary equipment.
• Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring a maintenance team
• Proven ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in a mining environment
• Ability to work flexibly in a team-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Understanding of WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations and commitment to high safety standards

• Additional qualifications such as Working at Heights, Confined Space, Forklift, EWP, Rigging & Dogging tickets will be highly regarded
