A non for profit organisation, our businesses include a wholesale plant nursery, packaging, collation and timber services and garden maintenance. We have an opportunity for a new Employment Coach to join our social enterprise, Waratah. Waratah provides landscaping/gardening services to the local West Gippsland community including residential aged care, childcare and school settings.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As an Employment Coach, you will work 1:1 with our Supported Employees, providing guidance and support in their role on the gardening crew. Working in the Supported Employment Services Team you will use your skills and experience in the disability sector to take a person-centred approach to assisting Supported Employees to maintain their employment, learn new skills and manage behaviours that may impact productivity. Key to this role is the willingness to lead by example and work alongside the supported employee in undertaking all gardening/landscaping tasks including but not limited to mowing, weeding and planting. This role is a physical one that involves working outside and on your feet the majority of the day. Its a great opportunity for a disability professional who loves working outside and previously done some work in gardening or landscaping.

This is a permanent fulltime position with hours of work being 7.30am - 3.36pm Monday to Friday.

Also required to for this role:

  • Strong computer literacy skills – competent with Microsoft Office
  • Minimum level 2 in First Aid (current or willing to undertake)
  • Current valid drivers’ licence
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccinations or authorised medical exemption
  • Willingness to undertake a NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check
