Rate: $70–$88/hour (depending on experience, location, accommodation, and vehicle)

Employment Type: Casual (with long-term and full-time pathways after probation)

About the Role

Guma Wagagu Australia (GWA) is seeking experienced and motivated A-Grade Electricians to join our growing team for maintenance and project work across Rio Tinto sites in the Pilbara region.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile industrial projects with a company that values safety, quality, and performance. We offer FIFO options from any state in Australia and encourage Karratha locals to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance and project work on Rio Tinto mine and port sites
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and equipment
• Execute planned and reactive maintenance tasks safely and efficiently
• Participate in toolbox talks and prestart meetings
• Complete daily and weekly reporting (KPI tracking)
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure project success

Requirements

• WA Electrical License (A Grade)
• Demonstrated experience in industrial or mining environments
• Rio Tinto inductions or willingness to obtain them
• FIFO flexibility or Karratha local availability
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong focus on safety and compliance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment

Desirable

• Additional electrical tickets (e.g., HV Switching, Instrumentation)
• Experience in maintenance and shutdowns
• Familiarity with Rio Tinto site requirements
