THE ROLE

Our farm robots are supported by electrical power, providing the perfect environment for our larvae to work in turning food waste into protein and frass. We are looking for an experienced electrician who can help build, install and maintain electrical systems on our robots and keep this perfect environment with little interruption.

Your general electrical knowledge and experience will come to good use as you solve problem in an environment where no two days are the same.

Working as a part of our maintenance team you will be required to travel interstate from time to time to help solve problems that arise on various sites. Flexibility with interstate travel and ability to be on call when needed is a non-negotiable for this role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Electrical installation, including cabling and wiring
  • Installing, testing and commissioning industrial control and automation systems
  • Assembly of electrical components of robotic systems
  • Basic fault finding and troubleshooting to resolve service issues
  • Carrying out scheduled routine maintenance and repairs
  • Attending to unforeseen breakdowns as required
  • Prototyping, designing and building of new electrical components
  • Reading, interpreting and following electrical diagrams, plans, specifications and instructions
  • Contributing to the development of knowledge about the use and maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Working collaboratively with engineers, tradespeople and other team members to improve manufacturing outcomes
  • Assisting with basic functional testing of plant and equipment
  • Be on an on-call rotation
  • Travel interstate when required to help solve on-site breakdowns and installations
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to better diagnose issues and find resolution
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Keep accurate records of work performed using our digital tools (Notion)

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience as a licensed Electrician in an industrial or commercial environment
  • Trade Qualification and current ACT unrestricted electrical workers license β€œA Grade’
  • Experience with AS/NZS 3000:2007/Australian Electrical Standards
  • Basic diagnostic and fault finding skills and installation of electrical and control circuits
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and develop skills
  • Current Australian Driver's License (manual license preferred) and reliable transport
  • Domain experience in at least one of the following areas is advantageous but not a requirement: PLC or RTU installation and programming
  • Working at Heights certification
  • Crystalline Silica certification
  • Trade Qualifications
  • Current ACT unrestricted electrical workers license β€œA Grade’
  • White Card
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
