About the role
AMS has an exciting full-time opportunity for an Electrician to join our dynamic Electrical team. Our Electrical team provides a specialist consultancy capability addressing the compliance of airfield lighting systems through inspections and reporting, installation, and maintenance. The successful candidate will be able to diversify their skillset with training in new technologies such as solar powered lighting solutions.
In this role you will support the technical execution of aerodrome lighting projects, contributing to both the on-site installation and overall project coordination. Based in the AMS head office in Perth, this role involves frequent travel to projects sites to support delivery and engage with clients as needed. Regular responsibilities include:
• Undertake the installation and maintenance of aerodrome lighting systems, ensuring all work meets AMS standards and client requirements
• Conduct commissioning of aerodrome lighting systems, including troubleshooting and resolving any electrical issues
• Conduct aerodrome electrical technical inspections and prepare corresponding reports
• Support project planning by helping with scheduling of works, sourcing equipment and coordinating subcontractors
• Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and escalating any potential risks and concerns
About you
AMS will provide ongoing training and professional development to support this next step in your career, but you’ll already be off to a great start if you have previous experience in the following areas:
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure project success
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to work independently and address issues as they arise
• Ability to develop and implement technical standards, processes and documentation to ensure consistency and quality across projects
• Electrical Trade Certificate endorsed for Western Australia (other states beneficial but not essential)
• LV/CPR and Construction Industry White Card
• Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
• Valid manual Australian Driver’s License
• Previous experience with aerodrome lighting systems is desirable, though not essential
• WA electrical Contractors License (Nominee) is desirable, though not essential
