Job Description: Electrical Fitter
Job Summary:
As an industry leader in the manufacturing of Electrical Switchboards, we are currently experiencing high growth and planning expansion of our resources. We are seeking a skilled Electrical Fitter to join our team at DRC Switchboards in the Electrical Manufacturing Industry. As an electrical fitter you will be responsible for assembling, installing electrical components, busbars and wiring. The role will involve working with a variety of electrical components including wiring, circuit breakers and metering. You will be required to interpret electrical drawings and specifications to assemble switchboards.
Skills:
- Proficient in interpreting electrical diagrams and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles and systems
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Busbar manufacturing experience
- Familiar with AS3000, AS61439 and the Victorian SIR's
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, technical drawings, and instructions.
- Install various electrical components such as circuit breakers, transformers, meters, switches into switchboard enclosures.
- Connect wiring between components using tools such as crimpers or soldering irons.
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot any issues or defects identified during the assembly process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Electrical Fitting trade or equivalent.
- Proven experience working as an Electrical Fitter within the manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian electrical standards/regulations (AS/NZS 3000, AS61439 and the Victorian SIR's) is desirable but not mandatory.
