THE OPPORTUNITY

As an Electrical Fitter you will be part of our Transformers team based at our Tomago NSW 2322 workshop.

We have a modern Transformer manufacturing facility that specializes in the design, manufacturing and overhaul of custom-built power transformers, providing engineered solutions for equipment requirements ranging from the intricate to the complex.

Ampcontrol’s capabilities cater for a wide range of applications across the industrial, mining and power utility sectors.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will be a key part of the transformer manufacturing and assembly process.

Task will include:

•  Mid production testing and QA.
•  High voltage cable and busbar connections using crimp and silver soldering method.
•  Assembling Transformer windings on cores.
•  Overhauling transformers.
•  Fitting out transformer tanks, Electrical and Mechanical.
•  Fitting transformer core and coils into tanks.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for a motivated and highly skilled Electrical Fitter to join our workshop. You will be working hands on conducting workshop and site overhauls, repairs, and servicing of power transformers to customer specification and standards.

Your willingness to be successful in a workshop environment will be complemented by the following:

• An electrical trades certificate
• Experience with electrical plant and equipment overhauls and repairs, ideally including power transformers
• The ability to read and understand electrical schematic and wiring diagrams
• A strong team player that can work cohesively across multiple teams
• Safety as a core value
• Forklift License/Dogging/Rigging
