Electrical Apprenticeship | Solar and Electrical

About the role

Kestrel has partnered with a highly respected electrical and solar company are are hunting for a 2nd-4th year Electrical Apprentice to join their team. Working in and around the Albury-Wodonga are, this role will see the successful apprentice working a fulltime roster (40hrs pw), while completing a Certificate III in Electrotechnology.

As a 100% locally owned and operated business, they are dedicated to set the standard of quality solar solutions for residential homes in the region. Where providing innovative and high-quality solar system products are what they pride themselves in, they offer a wide range of other in-home electrical services with excellent workmanship.

Our client is looking to recruit a motivated and hard-working individual to specialise within solar. If you are raring to get your electrical career started and be trained up to become a fully qualified Electrician by a team of experienced, passionate and professional individuals, then this role is for you!

What you will be doing

• Completing general electrical tasks
• Wiring and working with solar panels
• Working with customers to achieve the ideal outcome for their new solar system
• Assisting Electricians complete installations, upgrades, fault finding, service works and many other areas
• Working alongside other trades, clients and other stakeholders
• Work under the supervision of licensed electricians to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector, working with solar PV systems, battery storage, and energy management solutions.

This is a fantastic career-start opportunity to become trade qualified. As an Apprentice Electrician specialising in Solar, you will receive both on and off the job training working towards a Certificate III Electrotechnology which will see you employed directly by Kestrel for up to four years.

What we are looking for

• Commencement of an electrical work placement or pre-app
• Able to commit to a four-year apprenticeship
• Valid driver’s license (or working towards)
• Enrolled in a recognised electrical apprenticeship (2nd–4th year)
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety
• Reliable, punctual, and a genuine team player
• White Card and Working at Heights certification 
• Experience in solar and battery installation (preferred but not essential)
