About this role:
The Dewatering Labourer assists in the removing of ground water from the water table via pumps to lower the ground water table so our pipe laying crews can lay pipe in dry conditions. The water extracted from the ground is then treated with lime through a treatment plant to meet environmental requirements so the water can be released safely on site.
What your day will look like:
• Handle dewatering equipment manually and assist with the installation of dewatering systems
• Lay out discharge hosing and attached fittings to dewatering systems
• Follow instructions from the dewatering supervisor and carry out tasks accordingly
• Work in trenches near and in water (gum boots will be supplied)
• Carry out repairs on dewatering equipment
• Other tasks as required
About you:
• Strong knowledge of principles, plans, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong attention to detail
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with internal teams
• and contractors
• Problem-solving skills, with the ability to address challenges and adjust plans when instructed to do so.
• A proactive and positive attitude toward safety and risk management.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualification and skillsets needed:
• First Aid Certificate (preferred).
• White Card/ Construction Card
• WA Driver’s License – C Class
