DescriptionPosition Overview
To carry out reactive, planned and preventative maintenance activities in CIVEO Villages in a professional, technically sound, safe and timely manner to ensure the physical assets of Civeo are maintained to a level which protects the asset, provides a safe working and living environment, complies with relevant legislation and delivers a gold standard level of customer satisfaction.
Base location: Base location is flexible but significant travel to Villages will be required.
ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties and
Responsibilities
People
§ To be clear about annual personal and company objectives and to take
part in regular appraisal processes to assess performance and provide feedback
to management.
- To undertake technical and other training as
contained within the Asset and Facility Maintenance training needs matrix, and to attend periodic team
and individual meetings as required.
Customers
- To deliver excellent
maintenance services to guests and the Operations Management team, in a
timely manner, consistent with all relevant quality standards and service
level agreements, with the minimum of disruption to guests, customers and
employees.
Process
- To read and interpret maintenance requisitions,
specifications, blueprints and drawings and/or
get instructions.
- To prepare layouts and patterns in conformance
to building codes using measuring tools, including selecting materials,
planning sequences and methods of work, and measuring and marking materials.
- To measure, cut, shape, assemble and join
materials made of wood, wood substitutes and other materials using nails,
staples, screws, bolts or glue.
- To trim and sand joints,
molding, or other wooden parts to be assembled using hand and power tools.
- To frame floors, walls, conduct exterior and
interior finishing, and install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets,
stairs, handrails, panelling, moulding and ceiling tiles.
- To reinforce assembled
products with dowelling or other supports.
- To fit and install trim items, such as doors,
moulding and hardware such as knobs and hinges.
- To set up and operate woodworking equipment
and to cut, shape, mould and assemble components made of wood or wood
substitutes.
- To sand wooden surfaces.
- To apply veneer, stain, polish or plastic
laminates to finished surfaces.
- To repair or refinish wooden furniture and
fixtures.
- To install cabinetry.
- To check completed works to be sure they are
level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location.
- To keep all work areas, storage areas,
workshops, tools and vehicles in a tidy, safe and professional condition.
- To order goods and supplies required for
maintenance from designated suppliers, following relevant purchasing
procedures and ensuring best value for money.
- To ensure that a stock and equipment inventory
is maintained.
- To ensure items that are beyond the scope of
normal maintenance are reported to Village management for recharging to
the guest or client.
- To ensure any plant and equipment log books
are kept up to date.
- To ensure all
health, safety, quality and environmental standards and legislation are
strictly met, ensuring a safe environment for employees, customers,
contractors and visitors, and promptly reporting any issues, potential
issues or near miss events.
- To follow
Standard Operating Procedures in all relevant areas of Asset and Facility
Maintenance and to contribute ideas for improving processes and
procedures.
- To use IT
systems as necessary, including systems for reporting maintenance issues,
responding to maintenance issues, diagnosing faults and closing
maintenance issues.
- To assist in
taking handover of all new projects and properties from construction in a
complete and orderly fashion.
- To liaise
with sub-contractors and suppliers carrying out works under warranties and
other guarantees.
- To take part
in an out-of-hours response system to support the Villages 24/7/365 days
per year as required.
- To liaise
with Facilities Attendants where works have been referred on to Asset and
Facility Maintenance, providing technical knowledge and advice where
necessary.
- To take part
in Project Working Groups as required.
Finance
§ To ensure all financial policies,
procedures and processes are strictly implemented and adhered to, ensuring the
highest standards of ethics and financial propriety, taking immediate action if
any non-compliance is discovered.
- To facilitate
random and programmed audits of Asset and Facility Maintenance.
Other
- Any other
required duties appropriate to the scope, nature and seniority of the
role.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Experience
Professional Qualifications
- Trade qualified carpenter / Certificate III in
Carpentry
- Grade 10 standard of education with ability to
read, write and perform numerical calculations commensurate with the
duties of the position
- Manual Drivers licence, Class C
§ Working at Heights ticket desirable
Experience
- At least five years’ experience of similar
work, preferably in the service industry/hospitality/high volume
hotel-style services over multiple sites.
§ Previous experience in the construction sector
Skills
- Good numerical skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software and
maintenance IT systems
- Knowledge of use of equipment and materials
routinely used in building maintenance
