The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Electrician to join our underground project team, supporting the commissioning of conveyors, crusher, winder/hoist, pumps, control systems, hydraulic packs and supporting infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring all electrical systems are installed, tested, and fully operational in line with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Energise systems progressively in a safe, controlled manner.
  • Verify instrumentation and control systems wiring against P&IDs and I/O lists
  • Conduct functional testing of electrical equipment and instruments.
  • Calibrate and prove safety interlocks, emergency stops, earth leakage devices, overloads and trip functions.
  • Support dry and wet commissioning phases (no-load and load tests).
  • Maintain accurate commissioning records, as-built documentation, green lines and test sheets for project handover.

Our Division

PHE Mining delivers electrical and instrumentation systems that respond to the evolving needs of the mining industry – from early works and underground infrastructure to upgrades that support energy transition minerals. Our scope spans dewatering systems, automated plant, borehole cabling, fibre networks and control infrastructure, along with ongoing maintenance in technically demanding and remote settings.

PHE Mining recently secured honours at the 2025 NECA SA/NT Excellence Awards, across the Industrial Large ($2M–$20M) and Industrial X-Large ($20M+) categories for BHP’s Carrapateena Hydrofloat and Crusher 2.0 projects. Recognition also culminated in the Perpetual Award for Hydrofloat – the judges’ choice of the best overall entrant across all categories. This affirms PHE Mining’s leadership not only in technical execution, but in setting benchmarks for culture, collaboration, and industry progress.
