As a result of significant growth Androck are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist Leading Hand -(Afternoon Shift) to support the team based in Rutherford. 

***Afternoon shift hours 2:00 pm – 12.00am and attracts shift allowances***

Overtime available Friday 10am - 3:30pm & potential Saturday 6am-11am

As the CNC Machinist Leading Hand, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of CNC machinists, working on the overhaul, repair and manufacture of underground mining equipment. You will lead by example, providing hands-on support, technical guidance, and ensuring that production schedules are met with precision and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of machinists and apprentices in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Operate and program CNC machines (mills, lathes, or multi-axis) to produce high-precision parts.
  • Ensure that all jobs are completed according to the quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain production schedules, manage workloads, and optimize machining processes.
  • Troubleshoot any machining issues and provide solutions promptly.
  • Oversee machine maintenance, safety procedures, and tool management.
  • Provide training and skill development for team members.

What we are looking for:

  • Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade
  • CNC Milling Experience essential
  • CNC Cam software (Espirt) experience(desirable)
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic cylinder clearances and tolerances
  • Experience in operating / programming Fanuc controlled milling machine’s desirable but not essential.
  • 2 years post apprenticeship experience
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong focus and commitment to Safety
  • Reliable transport and C class licence

Applicants with the following will be highly regarded:

  • LF High Risk Licence to Operate Forklift Truck
  • Experience working with Underground Mining Equipment
  • 5 axis machining experience
  • Certificate IV Engineering
