About The Opportunity

Programmed Building Projects are currently seeking a Carpenter Foreperson to join our Canberra team. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a team that provides end-to-end project delivery for a variety of building, property, and capital works projects with a focus on refurbishments, fit-outs and remedial work for our major Aged Care contract in the Canberra area. This role combines skilled carpentry with a broad range of general trade skills including maintenance and repair duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing trades on site as well as being involved in constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures, as well as performing various handyperson tasks such as painting, patching, tiling, plastering and other work. 

Nature of the position: Permanent, Full Time

Reporting Line: Project Manager
 

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure the safe delivery of a variety of construction projects
• Assist with project delivery including strip outs, re sheeting & setting walls, carpentry fix out, framing or any other building fixtures used in building and maintenance
• Use of hand tools, powered and battery operated tools
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment
• Ability to Engage in face-to-face client interactions
• Ensure compliance of all occupational health and safety processes and procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, ideally, you will have experience working on a range of residential or commercial sites and be driven to complete work to a high standard. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

• Trade qualification in Carpentry
• Be driven to deliver excellent results
• Previous industry experience, ideally within a fast-paced environment
• Current Driver’s License
• Good communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and quality finishes
