Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced carpenters to join our team. Casual or Full-time positions available. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and materials required for construction
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge
- Cut, shape, and join materials using hand and power tools, such as saws, chisels, planes, drills, and sanders
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim, using carpenter’s hand and power tools
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and report any defects or malfunctions to the supervisor
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and plumbers, to complete projects on time and within budget
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
- Proven experience as a carpenter in the construction industry
- Excellent knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, as well as building codes and safety regulations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Proficient in using hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions
