We have an exciting opportunity for an industrial electrician to join the Brewing team at our iconic Yatala Brewery. As a Brewing Electrician (Shift Relief), you will work closely with a team of production operators, electricians, fitters, planners, and brewers to help deliver on our vision to bring enjoyment and connection to everyday moments in life through the production of our iconic beverages.

Please note: This is a relief electrician role, requiring flexibility to provide coverage for planned and unplanned leave for the team’s shift electricians, sometimes on short notice. The ordinary shift pattern is a 9.5 hr/day, 4-day week unless covering leave which is a 24/5 roster with 12-hour shifts.

 

About You

We're on the lookout for a proactive team player with strong mechanical aptitude, driven by a passion for learning and further development. To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A Certificate III in Electrotechnology (or equivalent) with an unrestricted, current electrical licence recognised in Queensland
  • Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing, ideally including hygienic liquid processing
  • Strong background in maintenance execution, including breakdown support, equipment calibration, commissioning of new equipment, and execution of planned maintenance activities
  • Proficiency in programming Allen Bradley / Rockwell SCADA and PLC systems including FactoryTalk, AssetCentre, RSLogix
  • Some proficiency with mechanical fault finding and repair to assist site mechanical fitters
  • Experience working in hazardous areas (desirable but not mandatory)
  • The ability to investigate electrical and mechanical issues, and proactively determine a solution
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with wide range of people
  • An eagerness to learn from others, and a commitment to developing your skills
  • A passion for safety, and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and others

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide planned and reactive maintenance support of all Brewing equipment from raw material intake through to the handover of product to the Packaging team. Equipment includes grain handling equipment, mills, pumps, centrifuges, filters, hygienic mixproof and isolation valves, heat exchangers, and more.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA systems, sensors, and control loops to ensure reliable and accurate plant performance.
  • Support daily production operations to meet performance targets, providing dependable relief coverage for shift electricians when required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues by investigating equipment faults and working with PLC ladder logic, sequential function charts, and associated control systems.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues, by committing to safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Adapt to changing operational needs, and reliably deliver production and process work as required
