Kalium Lakes Limited (KLL) is a minerals company which has 100% ownership of the Beyondie Sulphate of Potash (SOP) Mine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

As the first producer of SOP in Australia, our high-grade product is a premium fertiliser essential for high value crops. Global use of SOP is supply constrained, with Australia having been a 100% importer, prior to KLL entering commercial production.

KLL expects to be a low cost, producer of SOP with an initial mine life of 50 years. The Company has an experienced leadership team and Board of Directors. We have strong ESG credentials both in the production of SOP and its environmental and social benefits of use.

About the Role - Borefields Mechanical Technician

This is an exciting opening to create a positive impact in an ASX listed company and an emerging priority mineral sector for Australia.

This role will support the Operations Maintenance Team by undertaking primarily borefield genset, pumping stations and some light and heavy vehicle maintenance works in a cost-effective and efficient manner, whilst ensuring Australian standards and statutory compliance is met.

Key responsibilities include:


  • Repairs and maintenance to diesel gensets located in our borefields.

  • Repairs and maintenance to our borefield pipelines

  • Provide upkeep and minor maintenance to the dedicated light vehicle for this role.

  • Provide upkeep and minor maintenance to the dedicated heavy vehicle for this role.

  • Removal and installation of bore pumps and motors.

  • Preventative and corrective maintenance on our borefield transfer pumping stations.

About You


  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate – Motor Mechanic and or Mechanical Fitter (with diesel engine experience)

  • Knowledge and prior experience of diesel gensets would be highly regarded.

  • Current WA “C” class driver’s license (manual transmission) is essential.

  • Intermediate computer skills - exposure to Pronto will be beneficial.

  • Understanding of WHS practices and compliance

  • Forklift license desirable

  • Telehandler license desirable

  • Current WA “MR” class driver’s license desirable.

  • High integrity, a ‘can do’ attitude, problem solver, a self-starter and a team player.

  • Ability to work in a small team primarily field service based.

  • A CV and DG high risk work license would be highly regarded.

Location and Travel

The Beyondie SOP Mine is located 180km southeast of Newman in the Pilbara region, a two-hour flight north of Perth.

This role will work a 14 days on, 14 days off, and will usually fly directly to site on a charter flight from Jandakot.
