Weathertex Pty Ltd, manufacture a range of timber based products with broad building applications. Working within our Maintenance Department, this role has the responsibility for fabrication and repair of fixed plant and mobile equipment supporting our production processes and assets through our maintenance programs and capital project work improving the company’s productivity, reliability, safety and environmental performance.

This is a full time role with an attractive day work roster. A competitive salary is offered, per our enterprise agreement, with additional benefits including roster days, our employee assistance program, income protection plan and our quality bonus schemes.

The ideal candidate will be a trade qualified boiler maker with demonstrable experience in MMAW, GMAW and GTAW welding. The candidate must hold a current drivers licence and be able to work constructively under broad supervision within a multi-disciplinary team. High Risk Licences for Forklift and EWP, working at heights, confined space and isolation training are desirable. Attainment of Statement in Pressure Welding to AS1796 from TAFE or equivalent in MMAW and GMAW welding will be looked upon favourably. The candidate will be expected to:

Provide plant maintenance support to the Maintenance & Production Managers.

Contribute to the implementation of the mechanical maintenance program.

Take all reasonable care at work so as not to put yourself or others at unnecessary risk.

Report immediately any unsafe work practices.

Proactively co-operate with the organisation to comply with all legal obligations.

Be a good role model for other employees in the matter of WHS.
