Nqpetro is enjoying significant growth in the fuel industry in Queensland and are looking to provide a great opportunity for someone to help grow our Projects team in our Cairns Workshop.
We are currently seeking an experienced Boilermaker, Pipe Fitter and Welder to join our vibrant workshop team, this position will be based in Cairns. This role is challenging and diverse ranging all sorts of fabrication and welding works covering materials including mild, SS and Ally (predominately TiG and MiG). Experience with pressing plates mostly around 3mm is also beneficial.
Works include but not limited to:
- Pipe Fitting and welding SS and Carbon steel (2” to 6” Shed 10 to Shed 40)
- Pressing, fabricating and welding equipment enclosures, pumping skids and tanks
- Fabricating pump and pipework systems
- Fabricating equipment, skids, mounting posts, pipe support structures and assemblies for mine sites, depots etc.
- There will also be times where you will be required to assist with the truck workshop fitting up valves and fuels equipment.

The key attributes and skills required for this position:
- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate qualification in Engineering Fabrication / Certificate of Proficiency
- TiG & MiG welding experience essential
- Heavy fabrication experience essential
- Pipe welding experience and certification an advantage
- Experience in welding all materials, including Stainless Steel and Mild Steel
- Ability to read drawings, work to a time frame and complete tasks with a high-quality finish
- Ability to follow instructions and follow through on all tasks
- Must have an eye for detail and strong work ethic
- Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and quality
- Must have a positive approach, high energy level and enthusiasm for the job
- Attendance, punctuality and reliability is a must
