Welding & Boilermaker

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Boilermaker to join our team. The successful candidate will provide their expertise using hand-welding equipment and/or semi-automated equipment to weld or join metal construction and fabrication components. The Boilermaker will work with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, and copper, and will use a range of tools and equipment to complete their work.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and assembly of boilers, tanks, and other vessels
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a variety of tools and equipment, including hand and power tools, welding equipment, and cutting torches
  • Fabricate and assemble metal parts, using welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
  • Test and inspect completed work to ensure that it meets quality and safety standards
  • Carry out maintenance within the workshop, associated properties as required
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and mechanics, to complete projects

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of welding, brazing, and soldering techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Familiarity with a variety of hand and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
