Aviation Electrician

About the Role

Airport Development Group (ADG) is seeking a qualified and motivated Aviation Electrician to join our team at Darwin International Airport.

This is a hands-on role supporting critical airport infrastructure, including airfield lighting, terminal systems, and commercial facilities. No two days are the same — you’ll be fault-finding, maintaining complex systems, and contributing to the safe and reliable operation of a major transport hub.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and minor installations
• Respond to equipment breakdowns across airfield and terminal systems
• Maintain and support airfield lighting and control systems
• Use CMMS to log, track, and close out maintenance tasks
• Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards
• Participate in rotating rosters and on-call duties
• Assist with maintenance planning and special projects

This role suits electricians who enjoy technical problem-solving, autonomy, and working in a critical infrastructure environment.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• NT Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Licence (essential)
• Experience in commercial or industrial electrical maintenance
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Airside Driver Licence – Category IV (or willingness to obtain)
• ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) or eligibility to obtain
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and on-call roster
• Basic computer skills (CMMS, reporting, email)
• Ability to work independently and within a team

Highly Regarded:

• Experience in airport or aviation environments
• Knowledge of airfield lighting systems
• EWP Licence
