Opportunity

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Auto-Electrician to join our supportive and friendly team in Kalgoorlie. In this role, you'll take on the responsibility of performing electrical/electronic system modifications and manufacturing tasks on Normets underground machines, as well as those of our clients. 

This position can be FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Kalgoorlie.

This is primarily a Field Service role but when not required on site, you will be based in our Kalgoorlie workshop.

What we offer

  • Permanent position with competitive hourly rates + super 
  • Compensation: $75 - $85 per hour 
  • FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Kalgoorlie 
  • Roster: 
    • On-site: 8:6 roster working 12hrs per day
    • Workshop: 8:6 roster working 10hrs per day (approximately)

About You

Someone with strong auto-electrical knowledge, experience, and aptitude, additionally you’ll have:

  • Certificate III Auto Electrical or equivalent (Light Vehicle/ Marine/Heavy Road Transport/Agricultural)
  • Strong auto-electrical knowledge, experience, and aptitude
  • Ability to read electrical schematics with problem solving and diagnostic skills
  • Previous underground experience is highly desirable
  • Experience working in Mining/Construction/Manufacturing/Heavy Machinery 
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Have the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and obtain a National Police Clearance before commencement. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical/electronic system modifications and manufacturing tasks on Normet underground machines.
  • Fault finding, repairing, replacing, and providing technical advice
  • Inspection, audit, servicing, repair and/or overhaul of Normets equipment to OEM specifications in both workshop and or remote mine sites
  • Electrical installation of accessories and ancillary equipment on a wide variety of vehicles and plant equipment.
