We're on the lookout for an Associate | Mechanical to join our Melbourne team who not only has the expertise and passion for the field but also embodies a problem-solving mindset. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and have 7-12 years of professional experience within Australia. Your skill set should include a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, proficiency with design software, and exceptional analytical abilities. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential as our projects often require collaborative efforts across various departments.

Who You Are:

  • Experience: 7-12 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Technical Expertise: Excellent mechanical engineering knowledge, particularly in HVAC systems for new and existing buildings.
  • Plantroom Proficiency: Ability to walk into a plantroom and understand the existing systems.
  • Existing Building Knowledge: Ability to investigate existing systems and their suitability for reuse or options to upgrade.
  • Sustainability Knowledge: Understanding how HVAC systems impact sustainability performance of buildings.
  • Multidisciplinary Knowledge: Good general knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, including the ability to interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) to assess spare capacity or suitability for new installations and understanding of pumped and gravity hydraulics.
  • Report Writing: Strong ability to write comprehensive reports and produce high-quality work, with attention to detail and pride in the appearance.
  • Industry Knowledge: Reasonable understanding of energy usage, carbon impact, and the broader industry context.
  • Continuous Learning: Demonstrated commitment to staying updated with industry standards and best practices.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
