About the Role

We are currently recruiting an Asset Improvement (Mechanical) Engineer to join our South West Technology and Improvement team on a full time basis. The Asset Improvement Engineer will be accountable for the strategic oversight of the plant’s assets through the execution of improvement and integrity programs to ensure assets are performing to their desired function over its life cycle (e.g. major fixed assets, structural infrastructure) and the support and execution of asset improvement projects.

 

This role will be predominately based at our Northshore Mineral Separation Plant in Bunbury with occasional travel to our Wonnerup Mine site in Busselton. Working a 9 day fortnight where you will be home every night. 

Key responsibilities include:  

  • Project management and execution of asset improvement and integrity projects such as corrosion and concrete remediation programs.
  • Managing and supervising contractors on the execution of remediation programs to ensure work is performed in a safely manner by adhering to Tronox SHE policies and standards.
  • Influencing and governing the asset integrity compliance, and inspection process, developing and defining methods, process and scope of inspection.
  • Assisting maintenance and production departments with engineering, structural and civil related queries and providing support to develop asset strategies as required.
  • Aligning computerised maintenance management systems and inspection databases to support our processes.
  • Undertaking fitness for service reviews and Risk Based Inspections on major equipment.
  • Reviewing, updating engineering standards and developing specifications for equipment.
  • Developing and maintaining a 10 year plan for the business unit
  • Continuously identify opportunities for risk and cost reduction in the business

 

About You
 To be successful in this role you will need to possess:

  • Tertiary engineering qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in Maintenance or Asset integrity gained within a mining or fixed plant environment.
  • Project management experience.
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards
  • The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with key stakeholders at various levels within the business.
  • Previous experience managing contractors and consultants
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
