Smokey Horse has an opening for a Chef Apprentice to join the team.

Their menu celebrates traditional Nepali dishes, and they host occasional live music nights that bring the space to life. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the Hospitality industry, build strong culinary foundations while learning the techniques, spices and traditions of Nepali cuisine in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Job role:

• Assisting in the preparation of traditional Nepali dishes (e.g. momos, curries, achar, and others)
• Learning spice balancing and flavour development
• Supporting service during busy dinner and live music nights
• Maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness
• Assisting with prep, stock rotation and ordering
• Helping develop seasonal or bar-friendly specials
• Contributing to the positive, high-energy atmosphere of the venue\

What they are looking for:

• Genuine passion for food and hospitality
• Interest in Nepali cuisine (experience a bonus, not essential)
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Calm under pressure during busy service
• Team player who thrives in a family-run environment
• Commitment to completing a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Availability for evenings, weekends and event nights
