So what does an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Mechanic do? They maintain the systems & equipment required for air conditioning units, along with food storage & preservation structures. This is a valuable trade that can really take you places, and you will always be in demand!

This apprenticeship is within a business leading the way in Tasmania with heating & cooling, solar, refrigeration & electrical services, within large scale commercial & industrial projects, as well as domestic properties.

What would this involve?

  • You would be employed by Work & Training for the duration of your training contract.
  • Full time hours.
  • Full entitlements including four weeks of holidays per year.
  • Theory training conducted in blocks of training.
  • You would receive mentoring and support throughout the traineeship.
  • Your workplace supervisors would provide daily coaching and opportunity for growth.

Gain skills you will be able to build upon:

  • Work through job requirements from specifications and drawings to lay out installation reference points.
  • Installation of heating & cooling systems, solar systems & refrigeration.
  • Adjusting mechanisms and controls.
  • Repair & service of systems.

If you really love hands on work, enjoy problem solving and travel to different work locations every day, this position could be for you.

Wage:

  • National Apprenticeship Wage Applies.
