Work & Training is excited to offer a Certificate III Cabinet Making & Timber Technology Apprenticeship. This is a full‑time, 4‑year apprenticeship — perfect for a motivated school leaver ready to learn a skilled trade, or perhaps someone half way through their Joinery qualification and have found themselves without a placement.

🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll learn from experienced tradespeople while gaining real, hands‑on skills, including:

• Working with timber and cabinetry materials
• Measuring, cutting and assembling timber with precision
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Selecting materials and operating woodworking machinery
• Installing cabinetry and timber features on site
• Following WHS procedures and working safely at all times

🎓 What You’ll Get

• Paid, full‑time apprenticeship for 4 years
• Nationally recognised Certificate III on completion
• TasTAFE theory training
• One‑on‑one mentoring and employment support from Work & Training
• 4 weeks paid annual leave each year

You’ll be employed by Work & Training, One of Tasmania’s largest employers of apprentices and trainees, and hosted to our valued client.

✅ What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Genuine interest in working with wood and learning a trade
• Good attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
• White Card (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical and drug & alcohol test

Bonus (but not essential):

• VET Construction studies
• Any previous work or hands‑on experience
• Working with Vulnerable People Card and Police Check (or ability to gain)
