Apprentice Vehicle Body Builder
Duties include:
- Learn to Weld, screw, rivet & bolt components together to form a finished product
- Learn to Fabricate, form, and shap components
- Learn to cut, shape and grind sheet metal to create panels.
- Learn to attach axles, suspension assemblies, steering columns and brakes.
- Learn to manufacture and assemble products
Apprentice Vehicle Painter:
Duties include:
- Learn to remove rough spots on trailer panels
- Learn to sand surfaces by hand and with power sanders
- Learn to mask areas not to be painted with tape and paper
- Learn to colour match and mix paints to match paint shades, and selecting pre-mixed paint
- Learn to applying primer and finishing coats using spray-guns, and sandingsurfaces between coats
- Learn to touching up paintwork and apply polish to trailers
- Learn to removing masking papers, and waxing and polishing finished paintwork
All Apprentices must:
- Attending all Tafe classes and completing required units
- Assisting the qualified tradesmen as directed
- Use of workshop machinery & hand tools
- Maintaining a safe working environment

- The successful candidate must be someone who:

- Can-do attitude
- Must be able to work as part of a team and be able to accept close supervision andinstruction.
- Have a strong work ethic
- Great attitude and genuine interest in the automotive industry
- Must be highly motivated and ability to work in a team environment
