The skilled artisans at Heritage Stoneworks practise the ancient craft of stonemasonry. An apprentice stonemason will learn to handcraft sandstone blocks for use in the maintenance of our state’s most historic and impressive buildings. Their work will also encompass the installation of these blocks on site, and all associated craft skills. It ensures that more than 800 heritage-significant sandstone buildings across NSW remain culturally significant and operational as schools, hospitals and courthouses.
Heritage Stoneworks is helping to future-proof the heritage stonework industry as the major employer of stonemason apprentices.

The role
The Apprentice Stonemason assists with the planning and/or delivery of a range of assigned stonemason project tasks, and/or may manage small scale projects with low to medium risk and complexity in order that time, cost, quality, safety, environmental targets and the business objectives and client expectations are met.

What you will bring to the role
Our Apprentice Stonemason will self- motivated and have a genuine passion for establishing a career as a stonemason and deliver assigned stonemason projects with low complexity with the assistance of a more experienced Stonemason and by applying standard organisational procedures.
You will deliver tasks in accordance with cost budgets to contribute to business performance and identify opportunities for process improvement, capturing lessons learned on projects, and participate in formal lessons learned forums to contribute to improved business performance.
