MSPD (WA) Pty Ltd is a local company based in Bunbury with the majority of our work located within the Southwest region. Director, Michael Sherry, has 25 years Painting and Decorating experience. Since moving to Bunbury in 2005 Michael has built a large, reliable crew and developed strong working relationships with many of the local large scale building companies including Perkins Builders, Pindan, Smith Constructions, Civlicon and BGC.

MSPD (WA) Pty Ltd is experienced in all forms of painting work including large residential and commercial projects.

We currently employ 16 painters (including 4 full time Supervisors) 1 full time estimator and 8 Apprentice Painters. Our dedicated team is committed to providing quality workmanship within the allocated timeframe.

General duties of the apprentice/trainee:

• Assisting qualified painters with preparation and painting works
• Preparing surfaces by sanding, scraping, filling and patching
• Masking and protecting surrounding areas prior to painting
• Cleaning and maintaining painting tools, equipment and work areas
• Mixing and preparing paints and coatings
• Applying paints, primers and sealers under supervision
• Assisting with setting up and packing down job sites
• Following workplace health and safety procedures
• Working at heights using ladders, scaffolding and elevated work platforms where required
• Assisting with both residential and commercial painting projects
• Learning correct painting techniques, product knowledge and industry standards
• Maintaining a professional and positive attitude on site

Apprentice Painters are expected to work as part of a team while developing the skills and experience required to become qualified painters and decorators.
