Sulles Pty Ltd is offering one position as an Apprentice Fitter (Certificate III Engineering Mechanical) to an intelligent and exceptional candidate. HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT THE POSITION INVOLVES

  • Commitment to a 4-year apprenticeship, with on-going employment.
  • Excellent opportunities where you will acquire valuable work experience, full support throughout your study, and learn while you earn and obtain a nationally recognized qualification.
  • Gaining knowledge and understanding of, and performing work in accordance with: Workplace Safety, Food Safety & Handling, SQF, GMP, & HACCP requirements.
  • Work toward achieving the competencies of your training plan as you also attend Tafe to complete the required coursework.
  • Training in a wide range of maintenance skills & tasks to learn to maintain automated packaging & processing machines, including our robots, motors & gearboxes.

 

DURING YOUR APPRENTICESHIP YOU WILL BE EXPOSED TO A WIDE RANGE OF ACTIVITIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITIED TO:

  • Working on the manufacturing floor (fault finding & trouble-shooting machinery issues).
  • Repair & replacement of components and parts.
  • Design & manufacture of modifications to existing component parts etc.
  • Operation of refrigeration systems in the engine room.
  • Provide quality support to a team of experienced & qualified tradesmen to deliver quality work within time   
  • Maintain safe & tidy workshop areas.
  • Set up and/or operate hand & machine tools.
  • Support improvement projects that aim to reduce unplanned production stoppages.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team, under close supervision & at times independently.
  • Hot work including welding, cutting & grinding, lathe & mill operations.
  • Be prepared to work at heights, in confined spaces, and at times in cold environments (e.g. blast chillers and freezers)

 

SELECTION CRITERIA - INGREDIENTS FOR SUCESS

  • Passion for becoming a qualified tradesperson.
  • Completion of HSC or equivalent, with above-average scores in math, physics, and computers.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a mechanical interest with hands on problem solving.
  • Unrestricted & flexible availability to attend morning or afternoon shifts from Monday to Friday.
  • Strong English communication, literacy & numeracy skills
  • The ability to be adaptable, work within a team & show initiative.
  • Physically fit & healthy to safely perform all duties, including safely lift to 15kg.
  • Valid drivers’ licence.
  • Ability to commit to our Safety-First culture.
  • Australian working rights.
