Are you eager to kickstart your career in electrical maintenance? As an apprentice, you'll support our Plant Electrical Maintenance Team in ensuring our equipment runs safely and efficiently. You'll gain hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding, working on world class equipment with exposure to high voltage networks, instrument and control systems and advanced PLC programming all while optimizing our plant's operational capacity and learning from some of the best Tradespeople in the business.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Follow directions from tradespersons and leaders 
  • Adherence to workplace, health and safety site standards 
  • Actively participate and engage in external training. 
  • Safely assist tradespeople to execute electrical maintenance 
  • Assist in maintaining statutory electrical inspections and records as required by WMA 
  • Assist in performing fault finding and repairs of electrical systems and equipment 
  • Complete Inspections to identify faults and raise quality notifications in SAP PM for repairs 
  • Isolate equipment for maintenance requirements 
  • Complete quality handovers with oncoming shifts and other maintenance teams including contractors. 

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:  

  • Self-starter with a motivated work attitude 
  • HSC or IB with strong results in Mathematics and Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificate II in Electrotechnology is a plus. 
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. 
  • Proficiency in calculating figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts, and handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite. 
  • SAP and Rapid Global contractor management system experience is desirable. 
  • Ability to work in demanding physical and environmental conditions, including lifting, climbing, working at heights, confined spaces, heat, and adverse weather. Demonstrates exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
